DIY Spring Charm with The Kids
Make spring more memorable with the kids by adding a bit of colour to your home. We suggest getting these supplies from your favourite PNA store for fun spring flower ornaments that’ll look perfect anywhere in your home – colourful felt, buttons, ribbons and straws.
Place these flowers in a glass vase on any table for a creative display. They are pretty, no-sew flowers, and kids of all ages will love to participate.
Method:
- Select the colours and sizes of felt pieces you want to use (3 to 5 work best) and start layering.
- Add a dot of glue to the centre of each layer to hold your flower together, but do not glue to the outer edges. This will create a flower with more depth and dimension.
- Finish the centre of each flower by glueing on a colourful button or layering two different-sized buttons to create even more dimension.
- Glue a wooden skewer or paper straw to the back of the flower to serve as the stem. Hot glue will work best as it holds firmly and dries quickly.
- Tie a short length of ribbon to the skewer to create leaves.
- Bundle your flowers together and place them in your favourite vase.
Tip: If the mouth of your vase is too wide to hold the flowers upright, try placing a small piece of floral foam or playdough in the bottom of the vase to hold the stems in place.
We wish you a happy & sweet spring!
