Women’s Month: 5 Tips to Quick Wins with a Planner

This month, we are celebrating women! Women the best known as the multi-taskers. But how do we keep everything organised through all the chaos without feeling overwhelmed? With planners, of course!

In this blog, in honouring our South African women, who we know to love beautiful things, we’ll showcase some planners available at PNA Rosebank; what goes best with a planner (pens, pencils, highlighters, etc.), and we’ll share some tips on how to use a planner effectively.

Now, you might think that a planner in the second half of the year is a crazy idea, but honey, there are still 152 days left of this year, and we don’t know about you, but this part tends to be the craziest.

Tips on how to use a planner effectively

  1. Use your planner every day

Get into the habit of using your planner daily, not just during the week. Ensure to write everything down after analysing your needs. It doesn’t matter which brand or type of planner you have (A5 size planners are our favourite because it fits perfectly in any handbag), jot down important dates and goals. We guarantee you will be more productive, and it will relieve your stress levels.

  1. Plan to plan

Consistency is key; therefore, you should choose when to plan – daily, weekly, or monthly. We suggest starting large and narrowing it down. Break the big goals into doable chunks for smaller wins. Colour coding helps prioritise tasks, so get those pens you always wanted and colour your world!

  1. Block out time

Have you ever noticed those thin lines in a planner with times allocated next to it? It’s actually for time blocking… Block out time for the time a task will take you, for meetings, writing reports, replying to emails, grocery shopping and a HIIT workout. Try keeping to these times allows you to make the most of your day. You’ll soon realise this is a very effective way to attain your per-task goals.

  1. Boss it up

It’s your planner, and you can do exactly what you want. If it’s a new planner, don’t be afraid to make the first mark; it might be a mess, but so what? Scribble, doodle, and make notes of at least 3 to 5 must-dos and don’t over-commit. It’s your territory for thoughts and brain dumps, and you should absolutely love it. So, own it!

  1. Have fun

Ladies, it doesn’t matter if you’re a minimalist planner or a sharp cookie with brimming creativity. We encourage you to have fun with it. It might not be your journal, but it comes very close! Add stickers, stamps, washi tape, coloured pencils, markers, and if you feel you’ve won… Yes, celebrate it with a lipstick kiss!
