Spring Tree Acrylic Painting by Karen Wessels from Paint It.

Spring Tree Acrylic Painting

Tutorial

Materials:
Canvas
Acrylic paints
Large flat brush
Small flat brush
Blush brush
A range of blue shades of acrylic paint

Method:

Use a large flat brush to paint a criss-cross background, from dark grey to light grey. Draw a tree trunk and three branches and paint brown with a small flat brush, add white highlights.  I made a stencil for this.

Use a blush brush, circular brush and start with the darkest colour. I started with navy and dot paint in the shape of your tree. Do the same with the next colour until you have used all the colours. Remember to use the darkest colour and move to the lightest colour.  Each time keep the shape of the tree.

Also, add flowers under the tree trunk and on the ground. I hope you enjoy it.
