Happy New Year, PNA stationeers innovators and creators! We hope that your holiday was well spent with your loved ones. It’s back to our desks again – school and work desks! Which is not exactly that bad even though most of us still experience the post-holiday slump. But let’s start this year with positivity and productivity on top of our priority lists.
It’s a new year, which means it’s a new chapter with new challenges, obstacles, but also incredible opportunities. We want to start by encouraging you to follow your passion, to keep learning and experimenting – creating your own opportunities if the doors you’ve hoped for doesn’t seem to open.
Goals and Objectives
Think about your goals for this year. We didn’t have much chance last year to do all the things we wanted to do. Change it this year, what is it that you still want to accomplish? We suggest heading to your nearest PNA store to purchase a diary, year planner, journal or notebook. Write down your monthly list of achievable objectives with a proper timeframe. Writing this down will allow you to look at it daily, reminding you that this is what your plan is, and unconsciously it creates a bit of guilt to see what you haven’t achieved yet, putting some spark to your motivation.
Organise – Out with the Old and In with the New
It’s also time to get rid of the old and implement the new. Organising is obviously the starting point. Take a day and get rid of what you don’t need, clean your desk, your computer, and your mind. Ideally, having your computer, mouse and mousepad, your diary/planner, and one more item without causing a distraction, is what you need on your desk only. Documents laying around creates a cluttered atmosphere, and when you spend ample time on trying to find a document, you need a document organiser or depending on the number of documents, a cabinet with appropriate files.
Get rid of documents, through recycling, that isn’t useful anymore – either physically or digitally. Save important files to the Cloud and free up your home screen of excessive icons and documents that just sits there. Save your files according to year, month, and date, if possible.
Prepare for the Year Ahead
The future will always be unknown, but somehow 2020 taught us to be prepared. Do you remember during the hard lockdown that we all wished for extra stationery, art and craft materials, and books because of all the non-essential stores being closed? We’ve thought ‘I should’ve bought more of this and that’. Be prepared this time, not for if we get locked down again, but in general. Make use of promotions, such as PNA’s Back to School offerings now. Yes, there’ll be other promotions throughout the year, but why wait until then? If possible with January’s budget, invest now.
