Father's Day Gift Ideas

Father’s Day gift ideas. Brrrrr. It’s one of the coldest months of the year. Showers become a place of horror. Baths become steaming, hot traps you cannot escape. You don’t want to leave the comfort of your duvet. But there’s a lot of warmth this month too. Because it’s Father’s Day, the day we honour Dad for the role he’s played in our lives. And we do that with presents. So here are some Father’s Day gift ideas.

Father’s Day Gift Ideas for the man who deserves the best

Our fathers play a pivotal role in our lives. From the time we are small, they protect us and nurture us, they are hard at work to provide for us, they endure a lot of stress to make sure we have the very best. Whether it is education or clothes, books or games, toys or sporting equipment or anything else we need. They impart their learnt wisdom (and continue to, whether you’re a young child or a middle-aged adult or anything in-between).

It’s only fitting we honour them for all they do for us.

Getting the little ones involved.

Get your little creative geniuses to make cute presents with modelling clay. They can create and decorate stars on a stick with special messages to remind dad how loved he is.

See? It’s so sweet, and basically says that Dad is a star! We have excellent clay that dries within a day, so they can get their hands busy one afternoon and leave them outside. We have a variety of clay that can air dry within a day, depending on the size and weather conditions. 24 hours later, Dad will have some nice presents to look forward to. Nothing is better than that which comes from the heart.

He’s a card.

Which is an old-fashioned expression for: “he’s witty” or “he’s funny”. Many dads are, when they’re entertaining their children (hence: dad jokes). But it’s also the medium we give him the message in. You can either make a nice card for him or, if you’re pressed for time, purchase one of our already made cards. There are plenty to choose from and you can write your own personalised special message in.

If you decide to make your own cards, there are several ways to go about it. One is getting craft paper, like we keep, which is made of thicker stock. Then, as the image above indicates, you can get quite creative. Here’s some simple steps to create a collar shirt card with a tie.

  1. Fold a rich, dark blue paper (or any colour you prefer) in half.
  2. The front facing card now just needs two snips, each two centimetres from the top, and then folded to look like a collar (see above).
  3. Using wavy lined paper, you can cut out a tie and decorate or colour it as you wish.
  4. Then you just need to glue on the tie, and voila!

Booked for the day.

Another one of our other great Father’s Day Gift Ideas is perfect for winter! A nice, new bestseller! You’ll find plenty of the latest page turners on our shelves. Books like King of Kings by New York Times Bestselling writer Wilbur Smith, which concerns a tale of two lovers forced by circumstance to be on opposite sides of a war between the Italian Colonial Army and Abyssinia. It’s rocketed up the charts and portrays a romantic and adventure-laden view of Africa. It’s not to be missed. But there are plenty of other excellent novels to purchase.

It’ll give Dad a reason to snuggle in the duvet late on Sunday; nothing beats reading an exciting, thrilling new book while warmly enwrapped!

Still puzzled?

If you’re still puzzled for Father’s Day gift ideas, here’s a solution: a 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle! Especially fun on a cold winter’s night if played by a nice, hot heater. Perfect for the dad who loves brainteasers and generally working his cranium in new and interesting ways. Some of our PNA stores may even have 3D-puzzles, which literally add a whole new dimension on the activity. Pop in to your closest one and you’ll find something to boggle the mind.

Finally, this is one of those Father’s Day gift ideas we can really vouch for.

If you’re still uncertain what to get Dad, perhaps simply buy a PNA Gift Voucher. If he’s the arty sort, he’ll be able to pick and choose from a range of art products like paints, brushes, canvases, etc, to his fancy. We’re sure he’ll paint up a storm.

Whatever you get him, it’ll be with love, which is the most important part of the present-giving process. And treat him to a nice lunch! Hopefully, you’ll manage to get the little ones involved. Their involvement means trinkets for Dad he’ll always treasure.
