Jess Meyer: Simple Greenery Wreath
You will need:
- Watercolour paper (hot or cold press)
- Round object to trace
- Watercolour paint
- Palette
- Round brush (size 8 pictured)
- Water
Colours you’ll need:
- A green
- A yellow
- A brown
- A black
Steps:
- Step 1: Start by tracing out your circle lightly with a pencil on the middle of your page.
- Step 2: For this easy wreath, all you need to is mix three green tones for the leaves.
- Step 3: Mid-tone leaf – Mix a deep green with a touch of brown to make it more olive.
- Step 4: Highlight leaf – Take your mid-town green add water to it and add yellow to freshen it slightly. If you have a sap green you can use that on its own.
- Step 5: Shadow leaf – Mix your deep green with more brown and add black to get a darker contrast.
- Step 6: Start with your highlight green and place simple leaf shapes on alternating sides of the pencil line all the way around the wreath.
- Step 7: Then with your mid-tone green place alternating strokes on each side of the first layer of leaves.
- Step 8: Finally, with your shadow/contrast, green place leaves along the pencil line between the other leaf layers.
