Decorating Month can be a fun, exciting experience to take part in; whether you’re a creative person or not and whether you choose black and white, pastel, neon, or lots of glitters, the possibilities with decorating are endless. Brighten up your space with a fresh coat of paint, stylish fabrics, and accessories to give a tired space a fresh look and make something old look new again.

It’s amazing what one can do with a few items – if you have a trained eye or a natural sense of colour and techniques, we know that you can create something beautiful, and we guarantee that your achievement will be satisfying, always!

First things, first. Before starting with your arts or crafts, ensure to do your homework and prepare. With our how-to tutorials available, we have done this on your behalf already. All you need to do is head out to your nearest PNA store, or your favourite, and purchase all the items you’ll need. It’s no need to rewrite the DIY handbook – we’ve got you covered.

But if you are hesitant to kick-off with a new, unique project, you’re welcome to inbox us on social with your questions or ask any of our staff to assist. Projects don’t have to be a struggle, so call on us.

Where to start with Decorating Month?

  • Think warm: We’re heading into the coldest days of the year. Perhaps think about arts and crafts that’ll warm up a space like wall décor or a canvas with warm Dutch Pour colours. We’ll sure be drinking hot beverages during this season, so start off with Coffee Wreath Art.
  • Focus on a specific area: You might feel intimidated by all the possibilities, and not knowing where to start might be overwhelming. Taking small steps is key – pick a nook, hallway, or even something small such as a working desk as your designated area to swoosh up. Swap out old arts and crafts with the new and be amazed by how a small change can have such a significant effect.
  • Keep comfort in mind: While all of this is fun, remember that it’s more important how you and others feel about the result. Don’t overuse materials, and yes, you might oversee it, but it often catches others’ eyes – use a clean canvas for easy decorating…
  • Step out of your comfort zone: Decorating wouldn’t be very productive if you only stuck to your tried-and-true arts and crafts. Use this month as an excuse to experiment with colours and designs which you would normally shy away from. You never know what you may end up falling in love with next!
  • Tell your story: Your arts and crafts should be pleasing to you and make you feel completely comfortable; therefore, take a step further by incorporating pieces with deep meaning to you. Use old prized possessions and use them as part of your project with pride. Surround your work with personal items, which will make for great conversation starters!

We hope that you grab every opportunity to craft your heart out during April. Don’t forget to share your decorating projects with us on social!
