Planner: How to Make the Perfect Plan

Someone famous once said, “I love it when a plan comes together!” Possibly using a planner.

Probably a lot of people. In a lot of offices and homes around the world. Using a planner

We concur. There’s nothing better than making a plan that is simple to implement, that makes your tasks a breeze, or/and keeps you on track. That’s why it’s important to make the perfect plan. With a planner!

As we get older, our brains tend to become more forgetful. Sigh. The joys of ageing. Or, if you’re a young busybody with more to juggle than a circus clown, it’s easy for something to fall through the cracks.

Keeping on track with a planner.

A diary is a good planner to have. Small ones conveniently fit into a bag. Bigger ones can be kept by your study or work desk. But the important thing is routine: relying on your planner means you need to get into the habit of constantly checking it. Three times a day is a good way to keep on track.

That relates to events or occurrences you need to remember. Here’s a handy tip, especially if you live in a big urban centre. Always give yourself 15 minutes more than you think you need between appointments (20 if you live in Johannesburg) to get from appointment to appoint. This relates to traffic. There’s always an issue with traffic that results in you rushing.

But now onto how to make a plan.

You need to break your plan down into manageable tasks that flow logically from one to the next. The way this is best done is thinking: if a, then b, which equals c.

We’ll use an example.

Let’s say you’re a busy everywoman, and your task, your sole task, is to keep yourself sane feeling in control of your day.

Here’s how you would do it, if you had a PNA planner (there are so many to choose from!).

Where would you start?

Where would that lead you to?

And how does it conclude?

Well, here’s how we see it.

Remember, you can get your planner in-store at all PNAs!
