Mother’s Day is coming our way.

Do you remember your first words? Probably not. But we bet your mother does. In all likelihood, it was “ma-ma”. You made her so proud! Simply saying a single syllable twice was enough to fill her heart with joy.

Since then, she’s been with you throughout your life, acting as a source of inspiration. She was your teacher, helping you learn to talk and to read even before school started. She was your guardian, when you had scrapes to the knees, she would apply ointment and a band-aid, along with a kiss to make it all better.

Mothers are the best.

She was your friend, who you could talk to whenever you had boy or girl troubles – like your first crush. And still is your friend today, to talk to over coffee, meals at the family home, or on the phone (have you given your mother a call lately? She misses you, give her a call!).

She was the one who taught you boundaries – what’s acceptable and what is not.

She was the one who showed you the correct way to act in society. She showed you right from wrong, so you’d be a good person who means no one any harm.

Mom is the centre of the family, and she’s held it together all these years.

And her special day, where we honour her, is coming 12 May.

Buy or buy to build.

Don’t forget to get mom something special for Mother’s Day. Either a present or a gift from the heart. Like, for an instance of the latter, here’s a literal illustration of what this blog’s author did for their mother:

It’s a wooden trinket box painted with acrylics we sell at PNA, along with glitter. How it was done: once the paint was applied, the glitter got painted on – making a sparkly treasure trove keeper!

The rose embellishments are from our scrapbooking section, as the author’s mother loves roses (and really, what mother doesn’t?). What we like about it is how a light blue colour paint was mixed with a rich purple and a corresponding glitter was used. Even the roses colour co-ordinate!

So, making your own gift for your mom is really simple! Especially with what we stock in-store.

After all, Mom loves to get gifts from the greatest gift in her life: you!

Thank you, mom!

They say nothing tastes quite like mother’s cooking. We once saw a clever advert that showcased a Mother’s Day special at a restaurant. The headline? “Treat mom to the second-best cooking in town!” Why did we love the ad? Because they were acknowledging there is something special about Mom’s food that makes it number 1.

We hope you’ve planned a lovely brunch or lunch for Mom – and are taking her to a nice restaurant.

And to all the lovely mothers out there: thank you and have a Happy Mother’s Day!
