Exam-time is riddled with anxiety, late nights and empty coffee mugs covering about 20% of your desk-area. As hard as you try you simply can’t make sense of the work and memorising it seems like an impossible task. So, what do you do?

Study guides are a great accompaniment to textbooks. It helps shortcut your task of summarising the important details after having a look at the school or university textbook. The good news is that the study guide publisher would already have done the research! They know exactly what the important sections are, certain formulas you need to focus on and would already have adapted the material accordingly. Plus, they make sure that it all complies with the CAPS curriculum as set out by the Department of Education.

Because the work is already condensed, it provides the reader the opportunity to not only memorize the material, but to critically analyse it. Now it just comes down to finding the right series for your child. It’s important to note that every learner learns differently, and some materials might resonate with their learning style better than others.
